Homework Help
Finishing the last five long division problems of the maths homework
assignment is the last thing he wants to do. I've already done 15
others just like them so why should I do five more?, he thinks. Every
child has these feelings once in a while - the "I don't want to do
homework" blues. For a early schooler , learning to read is as
difficult as writing a long essay is for a high school student - or as
hard as finishing long division problems is for you! If homework were
always easy, there would be no point in doing it. Lucky for him, there
are ways to make homework more fun - or at least make it easier to get
it done!

Getting Homework Done
How often have you or a teacher say you can do that "after you finish
your homework." It may seem like life can't continue until that
homework is complete! Well, there's a good reason for that. Your
homework is an important tool for helping him learn. That's why it's
given so much attention in your and your child’s life. Homework is
best done in a quiet place without clutter and confusion. Writing on
top of potato chip crumbs while talking on the phone is not going to
help you finish that history lesson. He needs to have a clean, quiet
study area that's free of distractions, so he’s able to concentrate
and get the work done on time. But sometimes, even when you
collectively practice good study habits, he may still need some extra
help with homework – and that’s okay.

Why Do Children Need
Homework Help?
There are lots of reasons why your child may need homework help. Some
children are out sick for a long time and miss a lot of work. While
some others get so busy they don't spend enough time on homework.
Sometimes all of those after school activities can really interfere
with getting homework done. In some cases, personal problems may
cause trouble with homework. There may be things going on outside of
school that can make homework harder. This can include problems with
friends, difficult times in outside activities, or things going on at
home. Even students who never had a problem with homework before can
start having trouble because of problems they face at home. But, there
are many ways you can get help.

How to Get Help
This is the easy part! Parents and teachers are great people to talk
to when your child needs help with his homework. You ,as a parent
might help him by rearranging your scheduled activities. You might be
able to help create a special quiet place in the house just for him
and stock it with pencils, erasers, a ruler, and anything else he
might need. Maybe you can even make sure his little brother leaves him
alone for a while! The teacher may also be able to help him get
ready for the homework. He can check the homework diary to make sure
he has written down all his assignments and check the school bag to
make sure he didn't forget anything he'll need to get work done. The
teacher may also choose to give some study tips. Teachers have great
ideas about being successful with homework. After all, helping
children learn is their job, so be sure to ask for advice! The matter
of arranging for a tutor is a very personal one and there are too many
personal opinions surrounding it. We do not sit here to make a value
judgment on it and leave it entirely to yourself.. In case you opt for
one you may realize that it can be expensive to hire a private tutor,
so to minimize the cost, children can get together in groups. Finally,
if there are other things going on in your life at home or at other
places that are bothering your child , you need to talk to a parent or
another adult you feel comfortable talking to and ask for some help.
